Due to the reorganization of MP3.com, the Daddios & Paul D'Ambra music is now located on Soundclick.
Albums: Outta Nowhere/2001, Wildness/2003
The Daddios is the latest project I'm working on with Paul D'Ambra. It is an attempt to pay tribute to the "vintage" Rock & Roll of the 50's. Paul sings & plays most of the "real" instruments. I provide a couple of guitar parts & programmed drums. Paul & I produce the recordings, but the songs and vision are all his.
We've released 2 albums worth of Daddios material so far (Outta Nowhere/2001 & Wildness/2003), and are currently working on the 3rd album release. As of December 2003, 9 songs have been recorded. Let me know if you are interested in obtaining a copy of any of these releases. In the meantime, you can listen to 3 Daddios songs on MP3.com. Last time I checked, there were over 8,000 listens.
I'm going to try to upload in-progress songs occasionally. They will be in various stages of completion (probably rough, with scratch vocals or guitars, very roughly mixed & no mastering). Check out the in-progress tracks on the home page.
Albums: All My Stuff/2000
"All My Stuff" is the first full album that Paul & I worked on together in this studio. Completed over the course of a year, we worked mostly on Friday nights & assembled this collection of "catchy doses of pure Power Pop". All songs written by Paul D'Ambra. I played guitar & programmed drums. Paul sang, played bass, & percussion. We learned alot during the course of recording this album.
Four of the songs on "All My Stuff" were recorded at Dunjen Studios while Paul & I were playing with Mitch Spera & the Hitters (quality is a little rough, taken from second generation analog source). These songs can also be found on the album "Don't Get Me Started".
Albums: Mitch Spera & the Hitters/1991, Sign of the Times/1994
Originally started as an all original band, we recorded two albums at Dunjen studios in Aston, PA (a 1"16 track old school analog studio). The Hitters evolved into a working cover band, which after a short break then morphed into "This Side Up", another working cover band. The music now on the Soundclick.com site is the second Hitters album, which I remastered from second generation analog tape. Eventually I hope to get the DAT masters & make some cleaner digital versions of these songs. When I get a chance, maybe I'll upload (from analog source) the first album.
Albums: Dust Along the Rooftops/2003
Mitch & I recently completed a new album entitled "Dust Along the Rooftops". It includes 5 new songs recorded here at "This Side Up Studios" and some previously released material. Lots of production & great keyboard/vocal parts by Mitch. Check out Mitch's personal site here.
Mitch's current band, Dogs Playing Cards is a Retro Party Band. Mitch & Joe Caristo use the latest computer technology to play your favorite music from the past & present. They are alot of fun to go see live. Check out their calendar on the website & go see them live in the Philadelphia area.
Nick & I have never played together in any real bands, but we both have a similar obsession with guitar & recording gear. I helped him master & rip the MP3 songs on his site.
